Threads, The New Instagram App that might be a twitter alternative?

Instagram has launched their new sister app, threads. We will look at everything you have to know about this app which some people are even saying could be the new “twitter killer”. Several advantages are noted as well as a few concerns. Threads was originally expected to launch on July 6, however, it was launched launched almost a day early.

Inside Threads App

When you enter the app for iOS you’ll see the latest posts on the home feed, search for new people to follow, and see your recent notifications. User profiles include a Threads and Replies tab. All the Verified Instagram accounts will also appear as verified on Threads.

How To Get Threads

Users of the Instagram app for iOS can find a ticket to get Threads via the search bar for the name of the app and P92…just type in threads P92 and you’ll see this;

Once you download the app, you can sign up for Threads using your Instagram username. Threads gives users the option to fill out their public profile and follow the same people as they do on Instagram during the signup process.

Privacy Concerns Surrounding The Threads App

Some users who downloaded the app became concerned with the app’s privacy disclaimers, which explain how a large amount of your data will be linked to your identity.

The app is asking for quite a few details but this doesn’t mean it’s going to get them from every single user and have them displayed on your profile, which is what many people think is the case

Fun Fact: this isn’t Instagram’s first attempt at an app called Threads. In 2019, Instagram introduced Threads as a camera messaging app for sharing photos, videos, and status updates with a close circle

A Twitter Alternative?

Though many people think that it maybe a twitter killer it’s still too early to decide that but it’s possible that it could be some kind of competition because twitter has been losing users because of the new updates and fees but this app could be a new Twitter!
