Elon Musk rebrands Twitter to “X”

If you haven’t noticed…the twitter icon has now changed to a white X mark with a black background. Companies change their names to reverse reducing profit, meet changing customers needs, or convince consumers that the company is more than just its name.

Following tweets from the owner of twitter Elon Musk, an X logo will replace the current twitter blue bird logo. While some fans are here for the change, some of the longtime users of twitter aren’t happy about the change at all.

Social media personalities like Marques Brownlee, who joined the app in 2009, says he’ll still call it Twitter, and Elon Musk responded, “Not for long.” Elon Musk tweeted about the changes that he has planned for several hours leading up to the transition!

Rebranding the site will be the clearest sign that this is no longer the same social network that it was before Elon Musk bought it last year. He said he wants to create an "everything" app called "X" that would be the go-to destination for members who wanted to shop, chat, or just be entertained.

It is said that they would limit the number of DMs for non-paying users and several other changes! It is still early to say if the rebranding has, or will, work. But based on other companies' similar decisions, it could work too!
