APPLE EVENT RECAP: part 2. iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 pro models

Now for the second part of this Apple Event recap miniseries. Apple's iPhone 13 line was released on Tuesday at Apple's September event, showing a slightly different design with a variety of new features for those upgrading from earlier iPhone models.

The event had four new phones: the iPhone 13, the 13 Mini, the 13 Pro, and the 13 Pro Max. The new phones will run iOS 15, come with a larger battery, more storage, the new A15 Bionic processor, a smaller notch, and several new camera features.

The base models of the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini are available in five colors: pink, blue, midnight (black), starlight (white), and Product Red. The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max will also get a huge camera upgrade as well as a new display with a 120Hz high refresh-rate display.

The four iPhone 13 models have the same size screens as the iPhone 12 series. The iPhone 13 Mini has a 5.4-inch display, the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro have a 6.1-inch screen, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display. All the new phones have brighter screens.

Both Pro models now get a higher 120Hz refresh rate, which makes animations and scrolling look smoother and gaming more immersive. Finally, after several years of apple fans needing this feature, it's here.

the camera has now got a new feature, cinematic mode. This will somehow make an iPhone a device able to shoot film. As we saw with the iPhone 7b plus which was the first Appl phone with the portrait mode it took one camera to take a picture and the other to map a depth map to make sure the right things are in focus and the right things are blurred out. Now, 5 processing chips later we have enough power to do that 30 times PER SECOND in the cinematic mode. Additionally, the three cameras on the pro models work in unison to aid this feature and you can even edit what should be in

probably the most requested upgrade is battery life. The iPhone 13 Mini has gotten 1.5 hours more than the iPhone 12 Mini. That's a significant increase: The battery life on the iPhone 12 Mini was a compromise some people weren't willing to make. So it's exciting to see the new Mini get such a big bump in just a year.

Apple says that the Pro models should see a similar increase in battery life with the iPhone 13 Pro getting 2.5 hours more and the 13 Pro Max getting an additional 1.5 hours.

All in all, during the iPhone portion of the event apple, brought about some amazing features to their new phones and we as the consumers will be the judge of whether their claims hold up.
